2 inmates die in Tunisia prison fire

Tunisia is the northernmost country in Africa. Its area is almost 165,000 square kilometres (64,000 sq mi), with an estimated population of just over 10.4 million

The chaos is continuing in Tunisa. Two inmates have died in a prison fire, while they were trying to excape from the prison in Kairouan .

According to reports, earlier this week more than 800 inmates have escaped from the prison in Kasserine and Gafsa. The two towns are both in Tunisia's centre-west region, about 150 kilometres apart.

During the unrest up to 11,000 prisoners escaped, though thousands of them have either been recaptured or given themselves up.
